Rewarewa Honey

Mossop’s Rewarewa honey is sourced from the bushy hills and valleys in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions of the North Island.

Known as New Zealand’s indigenous honeysuckle, the Rewarewa (knightia excelsa) tree grows to 30 meters in height. Its intricate spiraled flowers, designed for bird pollination and to prevent cross-pollination, blossom from October to December.

Rewarewa honey has a deep reddish colour and a caramel-like flavour. It is also know for its antioxidant properties.
